South African and American actress Charlize Theron is rumored to have had plastic surgery to improve her image.
Theron, 37, is speculated to have had botox injections, nose job, breast implants, blepharoplasty, lip injections, cheek implants and even a facelift!
Since her early days, Charlize definitely appears a little different than she used to, although below the neck, her B-cup breasts seem to have remained the same, growing bigger when Charlize put on 30 pounds for her Oscar-winning role in "Monster" and getting smaller when she shed the pounds.
Judging by the before and after photos, Theron's old nose was kind of piggy and noticeably bigger while now is smaller, more refined and narrower especially at the tip as well as along the bridge, an indication of a nose job. Her nose also sometimes seems it leans one way, which would mean that the operation was not entirely successful or that its goal was not to get the perfect nose. On the other hand, it could mean that her nose is captured from a more flattering angle. Plus, she has lost some weight, so the change in her nose could be the outcome of the same nose on a slimmer face - and not a nose job!
In recent years, Charlize seems to have developed a "trout pout," the signature look of women who have had a lip enhancement. Early images of Charlize show that her lips, especially her upper lip, have gotten slightly larger than they used to be, which is likely the result of an injectable filler, like Restylane. Charlize's lips aren't ridiculously puffed, so we applaud her wise decision in keeping them natural looking.
The fullness of Charlize's cheeks also appear to fluctuate, sometimes looking subtly fuller. This could be a natural occurrence from weight gain and loss, or the result of an injectable filler used to plump the cheeks, like Radiesse or fat injections. It is unlikely that Charlize has cheek implants, as they would not fluctuate the way a temporary filler would.
Charlize's skin is toned and flawless. Although she is relatively young, Theron should have the beginnings of fine lines or even leftover scars of adolescence. But Charlize's skin is fresh and clear, a possible sign of botox injections on her forehead and probably has peels to stay away from any blemishes or sun damage.
Some plastic surgeons and celebrity watchers have also estimated that Charlize has had a blepharoplasty because her eyes seem bigger and wider. While this could be the case, as many celebrities like Jamie Lee Curtis and Jane Seymour have eyelid surgery when they are in their 30s, Charlize would still be rather young to have already had a blepharoplasty. More likely, her refreshed eyes are due to a combination of botox, which can give brows a lift, and dermal filler on her cheeks, which can abolish signs of lower lid bags.
While remote, it is possible that Charlize has had a "mid third facelift," which many actors undergo in their 30s. According to plastic surgeons, a mid third facelift can smooth nasolabial folds and sagging through tiny incisions made in the mouth and sutures placed through to the hairline. If a patient wants, implants can also be placed for added fullness. It also helps eliminated the recession between the lower eyelid and cheek for a more youthful appearance. Again, this is only a possibility.
While many detect subtle differences in appearance in Charlize's face over the years, it could be just as likely that Theron is aging naturally and that is why the differences look so subtle.
In 2012 Charlize Theron opened up about aging and plastic surgery in Interview magazine.
Charlize admitted that she doesn't look the same as she did in her younger years. "I look in the mirror and my face is changing," Theron was quoted as saying, explaining: "and I have a different relationship all of a sudden with myself. Your face changes, things change - that's just kind of what happens."
"It's hard, though in this industry, because I think so much importance is put on how you look, and I'm not brave enough to be like: "You know what? I'm just going to let it happen. Whatever. I'm so cool with every line on my face." There are days when I definitely look in the mirror and go: "All right, I need to find a cream,"" Theron claimed.
"I can't foresee myself ever going under the knife, but then again, I'm only in my mid-thirties. Maybe it's different when you're in your mid-sixties. I don't know, so I don't want to make statements about where I'm gonna be in 30 years," Theron noted.
"But as of right now, I definitely have a different relationship with the way I look. It's not all-consuming. But I'm also human so I have days when I look in the mirror and go: "All right…Things are definitely changing." I can see that," Theron revealed.
"If I knew that 3D was gonna be such a big deal I would have gotten that boob job ten years ago," Theron joked as she received the Distinguished Decade of Achievement in Film Award on Thursday, during the 2012 CinemaCon awards ceremony in Las Vegas.
On his blog, OcBody plastic surgeon Dr. John Di Saia wrote: "Funny. Charlize Theron might figure that 3D movies are a reason for an actress to get a boob job. Well as long as she didn't go too big (she is a thin gal) she would do fine with one…or without one of course."
Conclusion: With or without plastic surgery, Charlize Theron looks absolutely gorgeous!
